SOUTH TARANAKI FIGURES. Returns of births, deaths and marriages registered throughout South Taranaki tor the month of May, 1928, show a decrease of one in the number of births, a decrease in the number of marriages by seven, and an increase of seven in the number of deaths as against the corresponding month in 1927. Details of registration at the respective post offices, with the figures for the corresponding month last year shown in parentheses, are as follow: Hawera. —Births 27 (23), deaths 15 (9), marriages 7 (9). Waverley.—Births 9 (7), deaths 0 (2), marriages 1 (4). Patea. —Births 5 (4), deaths 1 (1), marriages 2 (1). Eltham. —Births 8 (10), deaths. 2 (2), marriages.2 (3). Manaia,—Births 2 (4), deaths 2 (0), marriages 0 (0). Kaponga. —Births 4 (9), deaths 2 (1), marriages 0 (5). Opunake. —Births 12 (11), deaths 1 (1), marriages 3 (0). Totals.—Births 67 (68), deaths 23 (16), marriages 15 (22).
