MOKOIA SPORTS CLUB.
THE EVENING ENTERTAINMENT. PRESENTATION OF PRIZES. Following the sports at Mokoia- yesterday, there was a very successful dance, accompaned by the presentation of trophies and prizes. The hall was filled, over £26 being taken at the doors. Good music was supplied l by Barton’s orchestra, andi Messrs. S. J. Tidswell and N. Hunt were M’s.C. The ladies provided a bountiful supper. The president (Mr. D. S. Richardson), in the absence of Mr. H. G. Dickie, expressed the committee’s pleasure in seeing such a large attendance, and hoped all enjoyed themselves. He then presented the Rugby champion shield to the Stratford team., saying they had won it fairly and squarely, and hoped they would come back next- year. To the runners-up, Ohangai, he presented the Cann Cup, and congratulated them 1 on doing so ■well. The H. A. Lane Cup (athletic points prize) was again won by S. J. Tidswell, and the Bennett and Sutton Cup for jumping by Mr. F. W. Atkins with Prince Paul. The sheep guessing was won by Mr. A. Phillips. 1251 b; and the pig guessing by Miss Wright, 251 b. The chairman, in conclusion, thanked' all who had helped in any way. at the meeting—the referees, the ladies, the Boy Seonts for first aid' work, and the Press, and complimented all on the success achieved.
