More than 2000 applications for letters patent are received by the New Zealand Patent Office every year. Throughout the Dominion there is a small army qf people—ordinary, everyday folk—toiling away at. the perfection qf bright ideas which are being translated into the realm of practical mechanics. On a pro rata, basis. New Zealand heads the world’s list in the number of inventors. Scores of Maoriland inventors have contributed valuable mechanical improvements to the butter and cheese making industries. The Dominion leads the world in mechanical milking.
