KAKARAMEA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The local factory is now running every other day and making butter, 'iheie has been a. wonderful growth of grass the last tew weeks; tnere is'a rail amount of feed to start the winter with, and generally stock are in good condition. At a meeting of the Kakara.mea Sports- and Agricultural Association, a letter was received withdrawing the protest entered against Juju, winner of the open trot at the late sports meeting. His owner, Mr. Myer.s, therefore gets the cup. Tne Patea Electric Light Committee is now erecting poles from the factory to the township and the hall, these being among tiie buildings to be lighted. The Paten County Council staff has -finis 'ed widening the tar-sealed road as far ns Kakara.mea, and it is a great improvement. Last week the Kakaramea Sunday School, under Mr. S. Huston, held their annual tea in the hall, Alton Sunday School joining in with them. A very pleasant evening was spent-. Mrs. Lord and her son. Mr. C. Lord, are on a. motor trip to the Waikato and Auckland. Messrs. Murray Dowden and S. Can-dish leave on a motor trip on Wednesday to the Waikato, via Nanier and Tnnpo. Air. Lmi. Tarrant left for Melbourne by the Manuka on Saturday last to visit his sisters. Airs. Aforison and Miss R. Tarrant.
