BUSINESS FOR. MARCH. The following particulars of the loan transactions of the Public Trust Office and new business reported during the .until ended March 31 have been supdied by the Prime- Minister (the- Right i..n. J. 0. Coates) : ‘the amount paid out in settlement . new loans was £219,123, making a -:.tal. of £2,515,390 during the finan■ial year just completed. Further new ami were grunted to the amount of 5f,851, and the total new loans now •waiting completion is £573,079, while mlers of loans less than the full advances applied for amount to £190,616 -a grand total of £763,694. Applieaons for additional new Joans amount--1 g to £324,470 are now under consideration, “the new business continues to be uuisfactory. The value of the new estates accepted for administration during the month was £588,833, and the total for the year ended March 31. 1928, exceeded all previous records, .it amounted to- £6,511,928, an increase of 1930,909 over the previous year, which itself provided more new business than lad previously been obtained in any one year. On March 31, 1927, the total value of estates and funds under administration was £41,043,523. “And exceptionally large number of new wills appointing the Public Trustee executor—64 B—were deposited for safe custody by testators during the month and the- total of wills now held is 58,065.’’
