AGE MARKING
ALL STOCK TO BE TREATED. PROPOSAL BEFORE FARMERS’. UNION. (BY TELEGRAPH—SPECIAL TO "THE STAR.") WELLINGTON, May 3. It was reported at the _ executive meeting of the Farmers' . Union that the Stock Department had been interviewed legarding a proposal for agemarking. The department’s officers pointed out that it would be necessary to get legislative sanction. _ r “Are vou going to mark ail stock f asked a "delegate. The secretary replied that every animal was to be age-marked, and stock otlicials thought that the only practical method would be tattooing on the ear, not branding. Air. H. B. Stuckey suggested that ll the scheme was to be made practicable it- should be devised by l the I aimers Union, and, on his motion, a committee was appointed to dratt suggestions.
