REFORM MATTERS IN THAMES AREA. [by telegraph—press association 1 THAMES, May 3. At a meeting of the Reform Party’s supporters last night, Mr T. W. Rhodes, the sitting member, notified that he was not again seeking re-election for the Thames electorate. He did this with a full sense of responsibility towards the electors, as well as to the Party he had been associated with for so long. Owing to the alterations in the Thames boundaries, to include important parts of Ohinemuri, he suggested that the present member for Ohinemuri, Mr A. M. Samuel, should be his - successor. He understood that he (Mr Samuel) was ready to offer his services.
The meeting' agreed to accept Mr Rhodes’s decision with regret, also to invite Mr Samuel to meet them and to consider the position. It was unofficially stated that Mr Rhode s -mil stand for the new HaurnM electorate.
