FURTHER ELECTION RESULTS. At the annual meeting of householders at Meremeri?, the following ctwaiinuttee was ©looted for the ensuing yean:— Messrs G. W. Williams (chairman), H. 1 Davison, \V. B. Murray and l J. Miliar (secretary). At the annual meeting of householders at the Finnert-y School, Mir E. A. Gray pi ©sided over an attendance of seven. The following committee wa® elected for the, ensuing year:—Messrs \V. A. Styles (chairman) and secretary), J. Kilbride H. Wail, A. Gray, and T. ; DillaJid. MATAPU. (From Our Own Correspondent.)The inclemency of the weather presented toe attendance of parents at the householders’ meeting, which otherwise would have been, no doubt, well attended. The balance-sheet disclosed a very satisfactory result On the year’s working, the receipts and cash in bank being £B2 Is s d, and Hie expenditure £UB 2s 7d, leaving a credit balance of £13,18s lOd. In outlying the work of the year the chairman (Mr. W. A. Guy) said that the committee wished to congratUjlafe the teachers on the splendid way'the school had been conducted, both inside and out. Three of the pupils gained their proficiency certificates, namey, Roland Henry, Bessie' Seed, and Phyllis Beech. Approaching the close of the year the school lost the capable services of two of the teache.s in Miss Hawkes and Miss Fretkey, both of whom were transferred on promotion to other schools. The vacancies had been taken up by Miss Smith and Miss Noble, who had proved most satisfactory_ The roll number was 128, which entitled the "school to another teacher, and the application had been made by the committee. At ' present it was very difficult for Mrs! Russell (the head teacher) to teach so many in one class ■ (58)', which number included standards 4,5, and 6. During the year the request 'of _ the committee for the board to build a new shelter shed was complied with, a large shed measuring 4Uft. by Bft. being erected. The committee was now going bo “worry the board” for a bicycle shed, as a great number of the hoys came to school on wheels. Congratulations were extended to the pupils for winning outright the, Bennett and Sutton Cup at the annual sports. The efforts of. the. ladies in. organising a dance for funds in aid of procuring sports goods for the pupils were very much appreciated ancl enabled the committee to procure' two basekt balls for the gii’ls and a set of jerse.\s for the boys, the ladies having handed over the splendid sum of £i2 10s together with a donation of £1 from Mrs. Russell. The committee also thanked the Okaiawa Football Club for donating a football to the ■school. in conclusion, the chairman thanked all those who worked so well during the past year, especially mentioning the happy councils of the committee men and the good-toork of Mr. W. T. Seed as secretary for the past year. MANGAHUME. Mr. R. J. Morris presided over •& moderate attendance. The following committee was elected for the ensuing year:R.. J.
