LOSSES IN THE SOUTH /COTTON CROP DAMAGED. BLIZZARD IN PENNSYLVANIA. (UNITED TRESS ASSOCIATION—BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—CO PYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN PRESS ASSOCIATION.) NEW YORK, April 30. A message from Atlanta states that the latest estimate of the southern Hood disaster is twelve dead and eight thousand temporarily homeless. The damage is estimated at between ten and fifteen million dollars, including thousands of acres of cotton lands which were inundated.
In tlie meantime, Harriburgh, Pennsylvania, has reported a terrific blizzard, which has caused a million dollais’ damage, disabled the telegraph and telephone lines, and flooded the creeks with snow, rain, and sleet, necessitating the abandonment of some of the mine workings.
