IX WAIKATO DIOCESE. MEETING OF CATHEDRAL PARISHIONERS. [by telegraph—PßESS ASSOCIATION. 1 HAMILTON, May 1. All criticism of the Bishop of Waikato was ruled out of order by Dean Barnett presiding at a. meeting of cathedral parishioners last night. Referring to- the criticism of AngloCatholic ritualism, the dean said thatit was not within the province of the vestry to arrange the ‘services. He was absolutely responsible for the direction of the spiritual work and the ararngement of the services. In nominating seven members for the Cathedral Chapter, Mr. J. Hindoo said that these candidates- were deeply concerned over the- present unhappy position and felt that- they could not support the present bishop. If they were- elected, they would endeavour to restore- harmony in the church and to resist the- introduction or the continuance of ritualistic or Anglo-Catho-lic practices. All seven so nominated were elected, together with three others.
