AT STRATFORD.
131 G GATHERING PRESENT. The Town Hall at Stratford was filled with a gathering of people of town and district in honour of Anzac Day. The Mayor (Mr. J. W. McMillan) presided, and a stirring .iddress was delivered- by Rev. H. L. B lam ires, -while Rev. J. MacGregor nidi Ensign Smith assisted in the service. The singing was led by the Stratford Citizens’ Band, which also played the selection “Garland of Elowers. ’’ The service was concluded with the sounding of the Last Post. In • the‘ morning cars loaded' with beautiful wreaths proceeded- to the Kopuatama Cemetery, where a service was held”* at the soldiers’ plots. Wreaths were also laid on the Malone Memorial Arch at the Ring Edward Park, and on the photographs at the Municipal Buildings of men who gave their lives for their 'country.
