GRAND THEATRE, TO-NIGHT.

“FANGS OF DESTINY.”

Edmund Cobb, Universal’s popular cowboy star, and the hero of hundreds of thrilling Western film dramas, plays the main human supporting lead to ‘Dynamite,'’ tne wonder canine screen actor in ‘ Fangs or Destiny,” which comes to the brand Theatre to-night. Pretty Hetty Caldwell plays the role or the winsome heroine in this picture, which otters more than the ordinary m screen entertainment. Grown-ups and children alike will thrill to the almosthuman intelligence of the dog in the many exciting sequences of the photoplay. The splendid cast embraces George Teriolat, Carl Sepulveda, Joan Hathaway, and others, totuar.t Paton directed the picture, adapted for the screen from the story and scenario by George Morgan. The supporting programme will include a comedy, “Society iSreaKs,” International News and British News reel. The orchestra will be m attendance. OPERA HOUSE. BANDBOX REVUE TO-NIGHT. Theatre goers are looking forward to Mr. John Fuller’s Bandbox revue company at the Opera House this evening. The visiting combination established themselves in popular favor on their recent appearance by virtue of the merit of their performance. Doubtless a large audience will assemble to enjoy the new programme which is announced for presentation to-night. The management stresses the point that there will be an entire change, nothing which was submitted on the last ajjpearance being included in the list of to-night’s offerings. An attractive and varied series of numbers by the principals and ballet will constitute the first part of the programme, while the second half will be filled by “Married Life,” said to be one of the best productions in the company’ srepertoire. Musical numbers by Misses Heather Jones and Elsa Scott, while Misses' Ena Gordon and Vera Benson will be heard in more serious selections. Mr. Will Bovis and Messrs Sam Ward and Charles Norman will again be' prominent in comedy roles, his eccentric dancing recently, wil introduce further grotesque movements. Mr. Gayle Wyer, the producer, in addition to being the responsible party for the successful presentation of the show, also undertakes an important part in “Married Life.”

JOE BRENNAN REVUE COMPANY

Joe Brennan (New Zealand’s comedian),’of pantomime fame, is presenting his own revue and musical company at the Opera House on Thursday next, March 29. After a very successful season in Melbourne, the company came to New Zealand under engagement to Sir Benjamin and Mr. John Fuller for a season at His Majesty’s Theatre, Wellington. Mr. Brennan and bis company have just .completed a remarkable season of seven consecutive weeks at the latter city. As a dame impersonator, Mr. Brennan stands alone, and it was while playing this. type of character with the J. C. Williamson Company that he first achieved fame as a comedian. Mr. Brennan has with him a company of twelve principals and a smart ballet. 'They are doing a. short country tour prior to opening a long season with Fullers’ in the South Island. The company will present tlieir most popular revue, “Laughing Time,” at the Opera House, with dresses and scenery on the same scale ns at Wellington. Whether you want to or not you will laugh‘’at “Laughing Time.” Popular admission prices will prevail, and the box plan is now open at Miss Blake’s sweet shop.
