Despite Lady Aston’s “bun.” many women smoked. In her speech Lady Aster ine'.udod seme- amusing observations. "The more I see of men.” slip said. ' the more I believe in women, and as for those pioneers xve havn heard about, they would .not have stayed a week in oth'r countries if their wives had not been with them* “Whv did not Columbus si-dtle in America? Because lie had not .got Itii*wife with him.”
