- 'ARRIVAL OF LIMERICK AT SYDNEY.
“Don’t leave that horse dangling in the air; lower him to the ground,” exclaimed an onlooker when Limerick was being swung over the side of the Maunganui on his arrival at Sydney on Tuesday of last week. “There’s ten thousand pounds’ worth in that box. Hurry up, boys.” Limerick, as dignified and unperturbed as ever, was not at all excited when lie landed on the wharf and facet a small army qf photographers. Quickly lie was rushed away to a motoi transport, and in company with his stablemate, Zaragoza, was conveyed to his new home at Randwick.
F.D. Jones, trainer of the champion, is highly pleased with his condition and the progress' he is making, states the Sydney “Sun.” The gelding looks exceptionally bright and well muscled-up. He lias done splendidly since liis success in the Hazlett Memorial Stakes at Dunedin, and trill strip a fit horse for his first autumn engagement in Sydney.
Jones stated that it had been definitely decided that Limerick would appear in the Rawson Stakes on March 24. After that he holds an engagement in the Chipping Norton Stakes, one mile and a quarter, at Warwick Farm, on March 31, which immediately precedes the big carnival at Randwick.
