SOCIAL EVENING.

BY ST. JOSEPH’S PARISHIONERS. All connnected with the organisation of the social evening arranged as the annual reunion of the people of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church are entitled to cordial congratulations on the success achieved. There was a large crowd present, fully 300, and all had a pleasant time. The first part of the evening was given over to an excellent programme of music, elocution, - and Highland dancing, after which a dance was held. Air. E. J. Thurston acted as chairman for the evening, and Miss M. Bartlett was hon. secretary. The programme opened with a piano duet nicely plaved by Aliases Aleyrick and B. Ryan. Songs were- given in excellent style by Miss Constance Reilly, Mrs. M. J. Goodson, Airs. B. Malone, Airs. Moss. Air. Roberts, Air. J. Crawford, Mr. B. Alalone, and Air. Palmer, vocal duet by Alias Whvte and Air. Powell, recitations by Miss Kent and Miss Afarv Quin, violin solo by Air. J. Highani, orchestral trio bv Atisses Goodson (2) and Miss Uniacke, and an exhibition of Highland dancing by Aliss Jean AlacLaclilen. The rest of the evening was devoted to dancing to good music by Barton’s Gloomchasers’ Orchestra. and was much enjoyed. The At’s.O. were ATessrs. Leydon, Loader and _ Frevne. and very efficiently they did their work in looking after the dancers. Extras were played by Airs. AV. A. Quin and Air. Ste-ffert. A nice was served by the young ladies of the parish.
