INDUSTRIAL PEACE
MR. BRUCE’S CONFERENCE.
MAY BE ABANDONED. WORKERS’ UNION OPINION. BY OABIIE-PRESB ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received 10.40 a.m. to-day. SYDNEY, March. 16. The executive council of the Australian Workers’ Union has decided to reject the invitation of the Rt. Hon. 3. M. Bruce to appoint representatives to the proposed industrial peace conference, on the ground that the conference would he of a purely academic character, having no connection with the actual difficulties and differences between the parties and would achieve no useful purpose. Union officials are now confident the conference will be abandoned.
