FARM SETTLEMENT COSTS. GREAT BRITAIN’S ASSISTANCE. tfy CABLE—Ptti?BB ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON, March 14. In the House of Commons, the Rt. Hon. L. C. M. S. Amery, in answer to a question, said the settling of a British family on a farm in Canada cost Great Britain a recoverable advance not exceeding £3OO. Similar settlement in Australia, was financed from the Commonwealth loan funds. Great Britain was making a grant towards, interest amounting approximately to £3OO per family. Assistance in passages was additional. The number of families settled was small in comparison with the total assistance to migrants.—A.P.A. and “Sun.”
