BUSINESS CHANGES
MR. H. A. BRUNETTE’S ESTABLISHMENT. In 1882, the very early days of Hawera, the late Mr. John Brunette established himself as a watchmaker and jeweller, and the business soon became one of the leading houses in the town. Later on, Mr. H. A. Brunette joined his father, and subsequently carried on the business on his own account, so that for 46 years it has been in the hands of the members of one family. To-day it is announced that Mr. Brunette has sold the business to Messrs J. B. Gerrand and Sons, Ltd., a well-known jewellery firm who have been established in Palmerston North for a quarter of* a century. Mr. Brunette’s future movements are uncertain, but in the meantime his medical adviser has given orders that he shall spend the winter in a milder climate. Mr. V. Gerrand. son of the principal, will manage the Hawera business.
