SWIMMING.
MTiSS GLEITZ FAILS AGAIN. TO SWIM STRAITS OF GIBRALTAR, BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. GIBRALTAR, March 12. Miss Gleitz attempted at noon today to swim the iStraits of Gibraltar from Tarifa to the 'Spanish Coast, but gave up .the attempt when in an exhausted condition eleven and a half miles off the African coast. Miss Gleitz had been in the water 7 hours 45 minutes. During the latter stages of the swim the water was very choppy. .Some time ago Miss Gleitz was compelled to give np an attempt to swim the straits owing to the extreme cold. On October 7, 1927, Miss Gleitz swam the English Channel in 15 hours 15 minutes.
