The sub-committee of the Senate and the inter-State Commerce Committee, which recently toured the regions where coal strikes’ have been in progress for over a year, have published their report, which declares that the conditions in Central Pennsylvania amount to a “reign of terror.” The report is severely critical of the housing conditions, and tells of shootings into school houses, immorality and brutality by the strike breakers and of the police maintained by the operators.
