WHILE CROSSING CHANNEL. FATALITY DURING STORM NO PASSENGERS ABOARD. BY CA3LE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT Received 11.20 a.m. to-day. LONDON, March 11. A Paris-London air liner was forced down in the Channel in a violent snow squall. -No passengers were being carried. The pilot and mechanic are dead.—A.P.A. and “Sun.” Received 2.10 p.m., to-day. LONDON, March 11. A pilot of the Imperial Airways, who flew- over the wreckage, reported that driftwood covered an area of half a mile. He is of the opinion that engine trouble was experienced, simultaneously with running into- the snowstorm and with the vision blocked out, the machine flew straight into the water, striking it at terrific speed. The pilot’s legs were broken and the mechanic received head injuries. Both wore instantly killed.
