WOOL SALE
PRICES STILL GOOD. OFFERINGS AT CHRISTCHURCH A KEEN DEMAND. [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, March 12. At the fourth Christchurch wool sale to-day, a small catalogue of 5438'"bales was offered to a good attendance of buyers. The quality of the wool generally was indifferent, but there was a keen demand for nearly all classes, and l prices improved as compared with the last sale® by par to Id per pound. Merino did not sell quite so well as the other classes.
A feature was the very strong competition from the Continent. Bradford was not so prominent as usual. The passings were negligible.
