Five rinks of bowlers from South Australia, arrived here from New Plymouth this afternoon, and were welcomed by tbe Mayor and the. president of the AVanganui Bowling The visitors were defeated by country clubs’ representatives by 109 to 73. In the undermentioned details the visitors are mentioned first. Details are: Potter, Bower, Alexander. Naylor 23 v. AVillis, Handler, Curtis, Campbell 27. Sellar. Barton, Haggar, Cherry 17 v. Couttis, Drury, Scarfe, Cherry 28. Davis, M.oAVaters, Penno, Dunn 12 v. AVilson, Aiken, Sorntt-, Mafihieson 37. Alley, Temple, Renifrey, Oastine 17 v At.kinson. Ingram, Purcell, Roberts 15. Unofficial game.—Harris. A r on Dousso, Cato, Davies 20 v. Cummins, Harris, Gorrie, Parlies 20. The visitors will play AVanganui Centre rinks to-morrow, and will be in AVanganui till Monday. They then leave for Napier. NORTHERN CHAMPION. The final for the Northern: Division championship was played on the Fitzi'oy green yesterday, when Stanley J. Smith (Fitzroy) defeated T. Petty (AA est- End) by 21 to 12. On the. loth bead the scores were 11 all, but Smith had it. all his own way until the 20th, when the tally was 19 to 11. Petty gained one, hub Smith added two more and secured the game.
