Wanganui nominations next week. Palmerston North and Waikato meetings are over and both were successful. Palmerston Club are nob holding their next meeting at Aslibuinst. Arrangements have been made to trot at Awapuni next year. iTiie Manawatu Cup was a good race, •had-owiand, the winner, improving three seconds on his handicap. A'esuviou-s, who ran second in the Cup, and won the mile and a. quarter, :s a very promising four-year-old gel ring by Matchlight. Rangitiro. is a very promising young trotter, and will win more races. He was driven very nicey by J. Shaw, and With a less experienced driver behind Rangitera Real Tod may have. won. Ilea l , Tod is making a habit of getting -seconds and thirds. In his -la-st live starts he has run four .seconds and one third.

'Pile Abbey is a very promising pacer. Te is -rather a. short beginner, but is a fine stayer. Bert Adams has made a- huge difference in him . since. Gus Cameron sold him for £9.

Native Hero- is a promising young pacer and will be worth 'remembering .vlien Hawera and AVanganui meetings come along. It is wonderful how trie public at times let horses pay false prices. Our Nancy, who paid the largest dividend at- Manawatu, had proved her worth at- AA'airarapa; yet the public had forgotten her.

• Sailor Boy pulled very hard in the Stewards’ Handicap, and gave AV. AVi 1 - lets a very uncomfortable drive. Derby Lynn did not leave the -barrier till she had lost a considerable distance. She then showed what a good mare .she is' by getting within reach of the leaders coming into the straight, only to. have a- mishap which caused her to leave her feet. Fliton went two good races, with J. Shaw behind her. Abrudbanya is only a miler. Svringa- -seems a scent light. V. A!bo rn will not forget Brian Bingen. AVli-en A 1 bom drove Peter Fashion into .second place a mile from, home most people thought- him a winner, but Brian . .Bingen was not to be denied:, .and Al.born, with Peter Fashion, had to bp content with second. The Hawera-ownod Tui Bells seemed a bit big in condition. Our Patch is a very honest horse and recorded another second place. The Waikato Cup was a very disappointing race, as both Loch Moigh and Native Pirnce were driven very badly. Explosion ran a splendid _ race at Hamilton. He is only .recovering from in accident and to run second was «i vary good performance. J. Bullock is very busy getting the voung horses ready for the big .sale Air Corrigan is having at Easter.
