Captain W. N. Lancaster and! Mrs. Keith Miller, who are flying to Australia in thei Red Rose, reached) here to-day after having made a new record —the' longest journey over the sea made by a light aeroplane. Captain Lancaster says: “"We had a splendid flight from Calcutta, of 350 miles over the sea. In the five hours out of sight of land navigation was perfect. “Whilst in Calcutta- last night we were guests at a big circus, and at an amusing -supper party in the circus tent, afterwards.

“A large crowd witnessed the- departure. “I left all my money under the- hotel pillow at Calcutta- this morning, and so arrived here penniless. Frantic telegrams- were despatched to Calcutta, but no reply has yet.been received.”
