SENTENCED TO DEATH.
FOR UNFAIR DEALINGS IN GRAIN. BY CABLE -PBEBB ASSOCIATION—COPYEIGHI LONDON, Jan. 4. Official reports issued from Moscow state that Poliakoff, commercial director of the grain department of the State Bank, and his assistant Telesiiin, have been sentenced to death for selling to private merchants grain on more favourable terms that that of the State departments. Neither will benefit by the October amnesty, in view of the fact that their crimes were proved, and*that they involved an excessively prolonged abuse of an official position for selfish purpose. The middleman receiver was also sentenced to death, but this lias been commuted to ten years’ imprisonment.
