The Westland Trotting Club's meeting was held in perfect weather. After heavy rain the previous night the course was in good order. There was a large attendance and the totalisator handled £6213, compared with £6853 10s last year. The results arc: —

Whin by five, lengths, with three lengths between second and third. Time, 2.26. El mu Goldfields Handicap, of 80 sovs; 14 miles —I Rothino 1, 3 Eapahoe 2,2 Whispering Boy 3. The Canterbury Parle Trotting Club’s summer meeting concluded to-day. The weather was fine but the track heavy owing to overnight and early morning rain. Totalisator investments were £30,(371 10s, making £65,328 10s for the meeting, compared with £78,095 10s last year. Results are:— PROGRESSIVE HANDICAP.
