The Immigration Commissioner reports that duping the year 600 stowaways w'ere caught in ships entering New York and were deported. Aliens to' the number of 164,667 entered the United States during the year and ol these 120,000 entered by Ellis Island. Germany sent 51,000 immigrants, Britain a,nil Northern Ireland 34007. and the Irish Free State 2856 j. The Commissioner declared that 4000 aliens had been deported and in forty per cent, of these cases the reason was deficient inenflailiity..
