WHAREROA.
(From o'ur Own Correspondent.) SCHOOL BREAK-UP. A large number gathered at the Wkareroa Hall for the breaking-up ceremony of the, school yesterday, when the children produced a programme of songs recitations and folk dances. On behalf of the children Veta Chappie and Evelyn Williams presented Mass McConuack with a gift and a bouquet. Mrg Luscombe presented a silver medal to Gordon Murphy for his call entered in the competition -'last year and attendance certificate to Marj Hughes, Rex Luscombe, Gladys Reynolds, Mioillv Wells, Olive Sinuth, and Mary Williams, also a prize to Mary WiLliams for needle work and writing. Mr Smith, on behalf of the committee, distributed lollies, nuts and apples. Mrs Cramp gave a penny scramble and Mrs Ivellehar presented Christmas stockings to all pupils under eight years of age. Cheers were given lor Ales dames Cramp and Ivelileher. the scl too I committee .and the teacher. Miss McCormack expressed the thanks of all to Miss Fiveasch, for her daily acts of kindness to the school children. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladies. A display of needle-work was exhibited on the table.
