AMATEUR STATUS REFUSED. ANDERSON’S APPLICATION DECLINED. UY CAHIjE—PRESS ASSOCIATION COPYRIGHT. SYDNEY, Dec. 15. The New South Wales Tennis Association refused J. 0. Anderson’s application for reinstatement as an amateur. The grounds of the application were that he felt he could do more for Australian tenuis as an amateur. He added that he had signed a contract to put his name on a certain racquet. This contract would bring him £ooo per yearly for ten years. If reinstated, lie did not want the association to interfere with this contract.
