HAWERA CLUB ATHLETES.

MONTHLY EVENING MEETING. A stiff southerly, bringing cold E.\ - ing lain. Hindered conditions unpleasant last evening for the Hawera Amateur Athletic ClubV- third monthly meeting of the season, but the competitors elected to appear, and the programme was proceeded with. Messrs W\ A. Spragg, G. H. Weir and D. Strachan officiated as judges of track events, and Mr C. Dahl of lield events. Mr L. iMartgr gave Jiis customary attention to the starter’s duties, times were recorded by Mr L. 11. Clapham and Messrs G. Collins and A. L. Palmer officiated a & track stewards. Rumball took the lead' from the field of six when starting his tliird lap, and rode strongly to win hy 300 yards, with 100 yards between second and third. M. Onmvav (250vd«) was the only other rider to complete the journey. No time taken.
