Work on the waterfront- at Bowen is at a standsitil, as a result of twenty workers being fined for smoking in the instrument room in a wooden portion of the jetty The men ceased work as a nrotest, and refused to resume unless the W ater Board refunds th.e fines and allows the men to smoke anvwnere on the wharves.
