WEDDING.
REID—MILLER. . A very pretty wedding was celebrated in St. .Andrew’s Church, WaverleY, on Wednesday, June 8, between Ivy Hay, eldest daughter of |Mirs. GMiiler', Opaku, Patea, and John Franklin, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Reid, Eltham The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a frock of ivory crepe de chine, finished with a handsome rose spray and lace. She wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of chrysanthemums, roses, and maiden hair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss E. Blinkhoru, of Maxwell, and Al ias Rita Miller, sister of the bride, who wore pretty frocks of pink and mauve taffeta, in early Victorian sstyle, and carried bouquets of mauve and pink. Mr. Russell Davis acted as best man, and Mr. C. Southcombe as groomsman. The service was conducted by the Rev. E J. Da bourne. The church was beautifully decorated with streamers and lycopodium. Mrs. Dabourno officiated at the organ. A reception was afterwards held at the Town Hall, which was gaily' decorated with flowers and streamers of white, mauve and pink. The guests, numbering about- a hundred, were -received by -Mil's. Harvey Miller, who wore a frock of fuchsia repp with hat to match, and carried a posy of. asters anti maiden-hair fern. After the reception the happy couple left -by car for New Plymouth and the north. The bride travelled in a frock of hois de rose, with hat and shoes to tone.
The popularity of the young couple and their parents was clearly evidenced by the number of the wedding presents received.
