CORRESPONDENCE.
Correction.—Owing to a typographical error a wrong impression was-gnten in a phrase used by “Spero Meliora” in the letter referring to the Farmers’ Union which appeared in Monday’s issue of the “Hawera Star.” The query “Has it ever raised its voice against the ‘elimination’ of holding freehold ar.eas?” should have read “Has it ever raised its voice against the “illimitation” of holding 'freehold areas?”
LIGHTING ON MEMORIAL ARCH, (lb the Editor.) Sir, —Honour to whom honour is due. It .is only fair to reply to the critic who wrote in reference to the light on the Memorial Arch to say that the Electric Light Company have been most generous in their * treatment. Up to the present they have supplied light, clock switch] also labour, free of cost to Memorial Arch Committee or council. —I am, etc., E. DIXON, Chairman, Memorial Arch Committee.
