Received 12.50 p.m to-day. TOKlt), June 1. By the official merger of the Ivenseikai and Seiyuhonto parties, with Mr. Yuko Hamaguchi (former Finance and Home Minister) as president, the approximate strength of the parties in the present Parliament becomes: Government 175, Opposition 220.
It is generally conceded that the Tanaka Government will be challenged immediately upon the reassembling of Parliament. —A.P.A. and “Sun”.
