ALLEGED THEFT OF MONEY

Thomas Francis McLaughlan, aged 30. and Edward John Duggan, aged I I. were to-dav committed for trial on ia« charge of theft of .0180 from the wallet of Francis John Mangan, a retired Auckland contractor, when passengers nn the Maori the other night. The accused were arrested in Wairana.pa.
ALLEGED THEFT OF JEWELLERY WELLINGTON, June I. Guthrie Smith, aged 21, who was brought from Australia and charged with breaking- and entering the premises of .Stubbs and .Miller, Dannevirke. on May 2 and stealing £2(158 worth of jewellery, was remanded to Dnnnevirkc to appear 011 Saturday. LIQUOR SOLD WITHOUT A LICENSE. AUCKLAND, June 1. At the Police Court, Peter Ulrich, a restaurant-keeper of Hobson Street, was lined £4O for selling liquor without a license. The restaurant was raided by the police last Friday nigh’, and a large quantity of liquor was seized. The liquor was ordered to be forfeited and sold.
