SUCCESSFUL CLEARING SALE.

Messrs. Newton King, Ltd., report having conducted the first of tlie season’s clearing sales on behalf of Mr. A. O ’Connor, Normanby Road, Manaia, on Tuesday. Best dairy cows sold from £lO 10/- to £l3 10/-: medium sorts, £6 10/- to £9; backward sorts, £4 to £4 15/-; the whole herd making the grand average of £8 15/-. A spring cart horse brought £3l 10/-, bulls sold, from £4 15/- to £9 10/-, and implements in fair order of repair brought good prices.. There were some 150 buyers present from all parts jf the Plains and this sale indicates that there will be a good demand for good dairv cows for the coming season.
