DAIRY PRODUCE.

A STRONGER MARKET

PROSPECTS GOOD FOR NEXT

SEASON

The firm tone and rising quotations advised from Home markets are very cheering for the dairy farmers. The increase in production is broadly esti' mated at 10 per cent, for Taranaki, and this will help to bridge the “gulf” between this vear’s pay-out and last. In addition, the winter so far has been exceedingly mild, and pastures have shown a continuous growth. Farmers generally have grown ample supplies of root crops and put away good quantities of ensilage, and these, with the very valuable lucerne stands, are certain to be very valuable. The conditions are good enough to suggest an improvement in the future. The outlook appears to be hopeful with a prospect of a rising market. It seems to point to a somewhat better year than was expected, although it will still be hard on all those who bought land at anything like a high price.
