PRICE OF FERTILISERS.

SUPPLY AT WHOLESALE RATES

DATRY COMPANIES’ ACTION OBJECTED TO.

(BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, June 2.

At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Farmers’ Fertiliser Company, strong objection Avas raised to dairy companies passing on I to their suppliers at Avholesale rates, the opinion being expressed that retail prices should be charged and the profit added to the companies’ funds for distribution at the end of each year. ‘ Mr. Wilson, general manager, said that dairy companies had abused the privileges given them in the past_ When they passed on manures to sup pliers at cut rates, these immediately became the ruling prices. It seemed that the prices Avould have to be run on a sliding scale and that dairy companies Avould have to abide by the fixed prices of the manufacturer. When the time -came for an adjustment of differences, the dairy companies must be recognised, but they Avill receive some Avholesale profit on a sliding scale, according to the quality of the fertiliser purchased. If these companies Avere going to get AA’holesale profits, they must accept the same conditions as all other vendors.
