TAR ANAKI PROVINCIAL COUNCIL,

INTERESTING DISCUSSIONS. Many matters of interest to breeders iof the Jersey were discussed at a meeting of the Provincial Council at New Plymouth yesterday, the last meeting of the present council. There were present ; (Messrs S. J. Hollard (chairman), H. C. Sampson, P. .J. Peterson, H. A. Hunt, D. O’Sullivan, E. Linn ell, G. Cowling, F. W. Cornwall, E. Griffiths, and A. J. J3arr (scaretary). The chairman, reported that .in view of the fact that there were .not so many .sales as usual, the arrangement of the sates had been left to the auctioneers. A isubsidy of £5 had been received by the Stratford Club from the parent body. The conference of judges, the arrangements for which wore left to the New Plymouth branch, had been arranged, and would he held at Mr H. O. Simpson’s farm on May 11. C.O.R. TESTS. The question of the duration of C.O.R. tests was discussed at some length, the point being stressed strongly that the 365 days’ test was not farouted, and that 305 days was a better period, and would be popular with breeders. The forwarding of a .remit on these lines was. left- to the president. GENERAL. It was recommended that judges for the Royal Show be sought, if necessary, from America or Jersey Island, and that in view of past difficulties ample time ho allowed to make arrangements. It 'was also recommended that onedemonstrator ho appointed for the North Island and one for the South. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the chairman, members expressing appreciation of his services during the venr.
