FLOWER SHOW.

PRESBYTERIAN HALL

A WEALTH OF BLOOMS

The rich deep colours of autumn predominated at the display of blooms, shrubs and decorated exhibits at the show in the Presbyterian Hall, which opened this afternoon. It AA r as a wonderful wealth of colour that greeted the A’isitor, and it is .probably the best eA’er shown in that half. Chrysanthemums, as usual, occupied a prominent place, and constitute, ed a fine section. For size, shape, and colour they .would lie. prominent in any shoAv. The collections of flowers, ‘berries and fruit are again a feature, and these Avere much admired by the large crowd of A’isitors to the show. Hydrangeas also make a brave. -shoAv AA'it-h their large heads of bloom. Classes are good both in number and quality. The judging AA’as done by Mrs C. H. Washer (decorative) and Mr C. Goodson (cut floAA r ers and the other sections), and they both commented mast favourably on the quality of the exhibits and had some, difficulty in many cases in making their awards. Mr G. H. Mills, of Waihi, has a nice. exhibit of chrysanthemums, heaths, pot plants and other blooms. The points prize in decorative and general classes ,is a handsome ro.se bowl and .silver cup. THIS EVENING. There will be a : concert by visiting performers from Opunake this evening at 7.45 o’clock.
