BORING FOR OIL. (by TELEGRAPH—tress association.) GTPBO:r?NE, .Tan. 29. Taranaki Oilfields, Ltd., commenced sinking a second well near Tokomaru Bay. Drilling is well advanced. Investigations arc .new proceeding preparatory to 'commencing the third bore. Messrs Wyllic and Boliu, the AngloPersian Company’s experts, are now' in the district investigating areas held by Taranaki Oilfields, Ltd. RAILWAY HOSTEL FOR TRAINEES WELLINGTON, Jan. 29. The Railway Department lias purrhitsed the property owned by Sir Harold Beauchamp at a price over L6OOO for the us© as a hostel for cadets who come to Wellington headquarters for training. The purchase money will be, devoted by Sir Harold to a fund for’ providing a National Art Gallery at Wellington.
