BOARD’S MONTHLY MEETING. A PIT /[CAT I 6nS CONSIDERED. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, Jan. 2S. At the monthly meeting of the Board of the New Zealand Trotting Association, the application of the Canterbury Jockey Club to include a first-class trotting race at the Royal meeting was 'refused. Consideration of the Shanghai case was postponed for a month. The sum of £IOO was granted the widow of the late Archie Mathoson,’ the trainer, who was killed on the Southland course. An application of the Cambridge Club to increase stakes to £I2OO at its May meeting was granted. The board d'dined to confirm the registration of the names Jamito and Sweet Melody, these being names of gallopers.
