BOWLING.
NEW PLYMOUTH TOURNAMENT. OPENED THIS AFTERNOON. Play in the Taranaki centre bowling tournament opened in New Zealand at one o’clock this afternoon. Sixty rinks are competing. Two games will be played this afternoon. South Taranaki rinks taking part, include teams from Auroa, Avon, Eltkam, Hawera, Manaia, Opunake, Pihama, Park, Waverley, and Stratford. There are also nine rinks from Wanganui clubs. One from Palmerston North, one from Te Kuiti, and tw6 from Wellington. The weather was good for the opening. -
