AUTOMATIC TELEPHONES.
CHANGE OVER ON SATURDAY. NEW SYSTEM OPERATES AFTER 11 p.m. The “cut-over” from the maarual telephone switch-board to the automatic system will take place in Hawera at 11 o’clock on Saturday night, and ,subscribers should be able to use their automatic telephones a few minutes later. This announcement will he welcomed by all who have usei for the telephone system. It is a-matter for gratification for the Department and everybody interested that the promise made last year that the automatic system would be nut into operation this month has been fulfilled.
