LUXURY TAX.

There is a possibility of many business places in the Montmarte district being closed in the event of the Government not reducing the luxury tax of p 38 per centum on restaurants .and cabarets. An almost entire absence of foreign visitors had caused heavy ami the proprietors have passed a resolution that if the tax is not reduced by Wednesday, their establishments will be closed in a. fortnight as a protest. Meantime unemployment is spreading hi France.
