The Dominion bowling tourney was concluded at the Carlton green to-day with the playing of the remaining game in the pairs championship. In this match A. Braekebush and M. Walker (Auckland) 22 defeated Bell sen. and Bell jjun. (Hamilton) 12. VISITORS FROM WELLINGTON. Interesting games were played 'on the Ha we r a green on Friday and Saturday when a -touring \ icto-ri-a Club (Wellington) rink met a strong Hawera. rink, winning, on botli occasions by a good margin. The conditions were perfect and the green fast -and in capital order. Halve ra sihowed good form and. though in the early part of the matches they were far behind, they scored well in several heads and improved their position very much, 'flic visitors were a strong rink -and played good bowls. In the third match on Saturday afternoon Victoria went off with a big lead, and -at the eighteenth head Hlawera were in a minority of 14. They got six on the next and in. the last Jay five, when the Victoria -skip drove and reduced the -lead to one -and that was how the game- ended. KAPONGA VISIT'S PARK. At Park green on Saturday three rinks from Ka-ponga paid a. visit and played three local rinks, the -result being a win by 23 points to Park. The day Va-s good and all enjoyed the visit. The visitors were most hospitably entertained -by the local players. They were welcomed by J. Goodwin, the response being made in happy terms- by a visiting -skip. Afternoon tea. was supplied by the ladies, and was much appreciated. It is expected that section play will conclude on Thursday morning, land that on that afternoon post-sectional play Yjjll commence. Those rinks which goto post-sectional play will be section leaders and winners of six games. Twenty-one matches will be played in section matches and 2f hours will be the rime -limit except in finals. After the section play,*teams beaten twice will drop out -automatically. Play will commence at 9 a.m. each day and -null -be on New Plymouth. West End, Fitzroy and Vogeltown greens.
