Richardson has decided to accept an offer to play for one of Lancashire league clubs. PLUNKET SHIELD. AUCKLAND GAIN ADVANTAGE. (by telegraph—press association.) AUCKLAND, Jau. 22. In the Auckland v. Wellington Plunket Shield cricket match, Wellington in the first innings made 182. At lunch Auckland had made 257 for eight wickets. The scores were as under: — WELLINGTON; first innings. Continuing play this afternoon, Midlands took their score to 186 before the last wicket fell.. Cheevers batting well and soundly went on to make his total 66 when he was well caught by Barker at long off. Excelsior at time of going to press have one wicket down for 21. Treweck being out l.b.w. CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES. The fixtures in the- .senior competitions, which were begun a, fortnight ago, and which it was expected would n-ot be completed till next week, were continued to-day, owing to the Hawke Gup match finishing yesterday. Midlands -and Excelsior played at H-awera and Mamaia and Stratford at Stratford.
