(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 16. The Hawke’s Bay team is as follows: Paewai, Oorkiil, Blake, Grenside, Cooke, Johnson, Mill, Walker, Irvine, Swain, Campbell, ;M. Brownlie, C’. Brownlie, Craven, and Single. The Canterbury team is: Lilburne, Elvy, Carleton, Robilliard, Oliver, Mcuregor, Daliev, scrimshaw, Gray, McCormick, Leahy, Ward, W'aghorn, Jeffries, and Dickson.
SHIELD MAY NOT 1 BE! AT STAKE.
CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 16. “Unless ~he selectors ere satisfied that the Hawke’s Bay team to play Canterbury is strong enough to ‘do justice to Hiawke’.s Bay, the. match will not be for the Ranfurly shield.” This statement was made by Mr. Norinar. McKenzie, the Hawke’s Bay manager, when interviewed on arrival here today. “Nepia will not come south,” Mr. McKenzie said. “We will have men in positions foreign to them and we are not going to throw the shield away.”
