LAND IN WRONG PLACE.

The Italian steamer Dori caused a furore in the Saint- Margaretßay district by landing: 160 foreigners at a fishing hamlet 40 miles from the city yesterday. It in' expected that it will be brought .to Halifax by a. Government cruiser to-day. Oine hundred land eight, men, mostly Sicilians, were rounded up by the authorities, who scoured the countryside, and lodged at the immigration premises pending instruction, from Ottawa. The spokesmen said that the men. had been attracted by a steamship agent’s bales of wealth in America- and had decided to emigrate to the United. States, where they understoood they -had landed. OTTAWA, Sept, 13. Officials of the Department of Marine and Fisheries declare that la board of inquiry will have to determine the facts of the Dor-i ease. If it is ascertained that a deliberate attempt was made to evade the law, the vessel will probably have to be forfeited.
